Quick question, I have a 92 348 speciale 27 of 100 23,000kms red/tan, love the car. However I have been shopping for a 360. Found a couple good 360s, and stumbled upon some nice 355's. So here's my question sell 348 ss buy 360, or keep 348 and buy 355 as well. Cheers, should I post thus as well in 360/430 forum ?

I think in this section, you are going to get people who say go with a 355 or stick with the 348.

    I am a 355 guy.

If you get a 360, get a CS.

Post this in the General section for somewhat less bias. ;)

Why keep 2 mid V8's? If I were in your shoes I might consider keeping the 348 and look for a nice 550. Two completely different Ferrari's sounds better than 2 similar ones.

I have a 348 and a 360. My recommendation is drive the 355 and 360 and then make up your mine. I have driven the 355 and would lean towards the 360. The 360 IMHO is quite a big leap in technology and you will find it entirely different from what you have now. I love both cars and the 360 is like driving my BMW with 100 more horse power. It is quieter, you don't feel the road like you do in the 348 and it feels more like a luxury car. The 348 is more raw and just down and dirty. I actually like the feel better but there is no comparison in power.

I drove a 458 last weekend and that car is a huge leap from the 360. Again, it is a 2 model leap and no comparison. Again, I would drive both. That is the only way to know what you want.

I've never been keen on the 360...actually, at some point I might have been but ever since I saw the 430 I could never look at the 360 the same.

I have always loved the 355 hands down...my favorite sports car to-date.

360 is going to win hands down in up-keep and technology but will never have the looks/sounds the 355 has....

I would personally buy 355 and keep the 348. The money you'll save on buying the 355 you can keep in your piggy jar for repairs and upkeep on your 355.

    or

how about throwing a monkey wrench in here....save your money on the 355; keep your 348; when time comes and you can afford it, buy the 430 and keep your 348 as well!!!

I love the 355 but if I already had a 348 I would rather save up and keep it and get the 430 one day.....keep in mind the 355s my favorite sports car but with how similar in looks of the 348, you can get the best of both worlds instead of more of the same....

best of both worlds ; )

I love my 348 (obviously, just got it) and the 355 is a great car and feels pretty different. Thing is, given both sitting in the garage you would always have a dilema of which to take; they more or less do the same job albeit in a slightly different way. A front engined V12 is a different beast altogether and you'd probably use it in a different way and at different times. Want to go for a blast on twisty roads? Take the 348. Need to go on a long trip on the motor way/highway? Take the 550 (or 456 if you need the extra seats). Got to be the way forward unless you want to move on from the 348. Sounds kind of like you want something with a modern feel but don't want to give up the 348? Don't then but a V12 GT would probably cover more bases.

I like the idea of getting something other than another mid engine V8. The 550 would be a good second Ferrari to compliment the 348, or even the Testarossa would be a interesting contrast.

Someday I will try to convince my wife that the automatic 550 would be a good family car for us and I will have a 355 and a 550. A man can dream, right?

Took me long enough to persuade 'the boss' that a 348 was a good idea. Wouldn't like my chances but if you manage it, hat's off to you!

I've driven a 550 on the track and a 575 on the road. I don't see how anyone who loves driving a mid engine V8 can enjoy driving a 550/575. Just buy a Mercedes IMO

I have a 348SS and a 612. Can't compare the two. I agree with others, get a 12 cyl car for different feels. 348 is great for raw driving; 612 is great for cruising with the family. If you must buy a 360, get the CS.
