Time the cams by myself all the time, in the car its routine. There is no need to pull the engine to time the cams or service the belts.
For anyone that finds this thread. I got the same code after a belt/seal/gasket change. I re-degreed the cams using the procedure that Aldous details. The code went away. It was a 1 person job using depth gauges a camera and cell phone. You can verify if your'e within spec by using the real-time feed off of a x431. I went OCD with the whole procedure but I'm happy to know that I got it dialed in to within .01 mm of spec.
