    just called Tom at FofLI...

    he just told me that he is aware of that ferrari bulletin stating that there might be problems with the cam shafts on certain VINs.

    also, FofLI has NOT performed any of these recalls yet. But he did say that if u get a service where the timing belts are replaced (like a 30K service), they will take a look at the cam shafts and see if they need to be replaced. If they need to be replaced, the replacement would be FREE (parts and Labor), BUT....u still have to pay for the 30K service (parts and labor).

    once i get the PM from the dude...i will post the fna bulletin letter

    That's absurd that FNA won't cover that as a warranty claim. Somebody should find out if the variator can be inspected externally to see whether or not it's the newer one.

    If this thing goes your CAMs are going to cause your valves to crash into your pistons and bye bye valves, head, pistons, block, etc... Cringe :eek:

    probably going to get a 30k done on my car after the summer and have them check my engine while they at it.

    been busy with work....worked every day last week. not enough time to play!

    i received the Timing Variator Replacement fax from Paul Bianco (another fchat member). it says the service must be completed by decemeber 2004.

    basically a 7 page fax on how to do this timing variator replacement procedure with pictures and instructions.

    anyone need a fax or copy, PM me.
