Sorry if this is a stupid question. Drove a 360 for today. Noticed that the red light to the left of the steering wheel (near the switches that control suspension, ASR, etc.) was lit for the entire time of the drive. Im guessing this is part of the alarm system. Should it have been lit while the engine was running? I've never noticed this in a 360 before. Note: Im contemplating purchase of the car. Thanks.
No, and that is just one of the many answers you will be given when you have a qualified mechanic inspect the car for you before purchase.
Definitely NOT a stupid question. You learn from every question you ask here. However, your use of the word "stupid" will attract Steve King...who will then post his 2cents worth!
While it could be on for a variety of reasons, one of the more common ones is the separate batteries for the alarm siren are faulty/dead.
Most likely, the alarm siren rechargeable batteries are dead and no longer taking charges. Not a big deal as the alarm still functions properly (lock and unlock), just no siren. Its kinda nice if you do not want your alarm to chirp. Do a search, you will find a member on this board selling these batteries.
Excellent question ... I was wondering the same thing. And wouldn't you know, my alarm doesn't chirp. I guess I need a battery. G
Definitely alarm battery. Mine (2000 F1 #120877) got replaced under a factory recall. I would check with dealer first... Ernesto
There is no stupid question The batteries are insdie of the siren. You need to remove the siren and crack it open to access them. Chris Image Unavailable, Please Login
