I have a stock radio in a 360 Spider. When I started the car this spring I noticed that there was no display on the radio. It still lights up and works, including the presets, but no display. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix short of sending it out for repair?

The screens do fail but there's also brightness type settings - check the user manual (or download it at beckerautosound)

I think there is a way to reverse the image. Maybe that works?

Something to try... (Assuming it is the all black unit and not the cascade)

Since you fold the plate up to put in a CD or tape, try cleaning the contacts on the radio and the plate. Fold it down and gently pull the faceplate out from the unit. There will be a few gold contacts on the plate, clean them off with an alcohol wipe. Then clean the spring contacts on the main unit. Put the plate back on and snap it into place.

If the LCD display doesn't work and the lights come on, you can try taking a landrover or porsche plate and snapping it into place. Porsche and Landrover have the same basic unit. try a friends. Could be the LCD display is toast. If so, check ebay for a new faceplate or Beckerautosound.com.

Good idea Curt. My wife has a Porsche Boxster but I never thought to switch faceplates. When I did it instantly lit up and showed "Ferrari". I had to enter my radio code and then everything worked. Nice to know that the radio code is linked to the unit and not the faceplate. Got the diagnosis and now need a new faceplate. Thanks for your help.
