    Greetings from the Uk.

My 360 Modena has just gone in for its first service in my ownership and they are advising me to change the front springs as the car is sitting low – is this necessary or can the ride height simply be adjusted?

They also advise changing all the shock absorber bushes as they are noisy which is understandable.

I'm already paying for belts/tensioners and 2nd year fluid change so the bill is mounting up!!!

    Thanks for any help!

The height is adjustable, are they saying the springs have compressed so much they can't adjust the height back up to normal ?

The shock bushings go pretty quickly on this car and are pretty easy to change (read low labor cost) so do it, you will be happy.

    Update:

I've been looking around and got some advice elsewhere (Voicey's blog) and it seems I can save a huge amount of cash by doing this myself (both parts and labour) so I'm considering this now.

I will talk to the dealer again tomorrow (it's night-time here) to see their reasoning on the springs and report back.

    In the meantime:

Is it common for springs to compress so much that they lose adjustment?

Is it easy to change the springs yourself - is it just unscrewing the nuts or do you need spring compressors?

You alter the spring perch height to alter ride height. Once done you need a full geometry check and adjustment. You need 2 sizes of c-spanner and you may find the spring rubber has deteriorated and requires renewal. Ride height and geometry should really be carried out by someone competent.Superformance carry cheaper alternative shock bushes although they are not OEM quality.
