Hello all, first post, please be gentle with me!! I'm looking to purchase a 360 early in the new year if i can find the right car etc etc. My main concern is the standard electric seats, my frame is quite large, 6'2" and 16 stone, i have sat and test driven a few 360's with the standard seats but i could do with a touch more on the head room ( don't want a spyder ) and leg room. I don't mind buying a 360 with the standard seats as long as i can get hold of a set of the racing seats, so my question is this, do the racing seats make much of a difference and where can i get a set for a euro rhd 360 for sensible money, given that i hope to sell the standard seats which will recoup some of the cost. Great site by the way, been lurking for a while now but given that i hope to buy in the next few months thought i start asking some questions. Cheers Jim
The factory carbon seats come in three sizes and tend to cost upwards of two grand if they come up so you are better off trying to find a car with them if thats what you want - but I cannot comment on how much more space there is or is not - you really need to try both - some folk have fitted Sparco Milanos - see here : http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1359 Also just found this http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8346
I have 1999 360 with the carbon racing seats. I am 6" 1" and fit with plenty of leg room. I weigh 170 lbs and wear a size 42 jacket and fit just fine. At your size, my seats would be a bit tight on the shoulders. I do not know what size my seats are. I would suspect they are probably a medium, but I really am not sure. I would check the sizing issue the other poster mentioned. A friend of mine who is about 6'3" and 250 rode in my car and was not comfortable in my seats.
Thanks for the reply's. I agree with some of the links, i wanted a 355 but when i tried a few it was too tight, i would really like the genuine carbon backed race seats to keep things stock ,but could be persuaded to purchase a set of sparcos and depending on interior colour get them recovered. I also like the idea of a used set of CS seats if they come up at the right time and price, want to purchase car first and then buy race seats, don't want a pair of seats sat doing nothing if i can't find the right 360. Jim
I'm 6'2'', 225, 34 waist, my std seats fit me fine. These cars have plenty of room in them, far more than any Porsche I've owned.
