Hi all, Just back from looking at a 99 360 F1 (private sale). The car is in very good condition and It's everything that I'm after. There is however a break in the service history as described below: 2 Owners - Sold second time through same Ferrai main dealer, all servicing done at main dealer. new 9/99 6250 Service 10/00 @ 6K miles Annual Service 10/01 @ 11K miles Annual Service 11/02 @ 16K miles + Cambelts .... Annual Service 2/05 @ 20K. Basically the car has only done 4K miles in the last three years, but due to low milage the owner didn't bother having the annual service done in 03 & 04. I can appreciate the reasons behind this but would this put you guys off? I also wanted to ask about the maintainance schedule - it seems to be in two parts in the book; annual and the 6250,18250 services - I assume that the latter are the major services. If this is the case should the service this year have been the 18250? From the dates the cambelts are now due (event though only 4K miles on them). The clutch was 60% worn at the last service (300 miles ago). Whats your gut feel as to how many more miles before this goes. Has anyone who has bought private tried getting information about the car from the main dealer? Any help would be appreciated. Gary
No (with a but) - it will be argued by any dealer that this is not FFSH and as such can't be warrantied. Must therefore go into specialist field and as such, expect a reduction in price. No - the big one should have been done at 3 years or 18,250. That would have been 2002. As such, 2005 one will be a big one as well. Do them - rubber goes off with age rather than usage. Depends if this is still the first clutch.
One more point, not sure how major - oil degrades with time and from what I know, 2 years is max life span of any oil. So all the last years mileage were done on a potentially degraded oil.
