360 Six Speed, Challenge Exhaust ECU question

Just ordered the Challenge Exhaust for my car. 02 Spider 6 speed.

Just wondering if I need the ECU flash. My understanding is that it does two things, one adjusts the shifting in F1 cars; and the second opens the valves at 6K vs 4K.

With that being said, I would rather the valves open at 4K, and the shifting won't be effected in a 6 speed so do I need the ECU reflash?

 

No flash needed, bolt the exhaust on and go.

 

I bolted mine on and did nothing else. No problems.

Meanwhile, I have 2 new ECUs in case I ever need them.

To my knowledge the Engine ECUs have no effect on F1 shifting -- that's done by the TCU.
