Hi all, i've got a 2001 360 F1 Spider. She came without the fender badges, so NO indentations. I've always liked the look of the fender badges. I found a set on ebay pictured in the link below.(carbon fibre and the silver horse, which i think would look awesome on my blacked out 360) I talked to the Ferrari dealership and they figure they'll be able to install them by drilling the 3 holes in the fender for install. My only worry or concern i guess is if they'll fit to the contours of the car, as i don't want the corners sticking out and looking stupid. Here's a pic of my car....i dunno what's your guys' thoughts on how they'll look on my girl ;) Any help is appreciated, as its going to cost a pretty penny to have this done :)

I have the same ones on my F430 but my car already had Scuderia shields.
Dents are 1 mm deep from surface, there should be no big difference in my opinion

I installed the thick resin shields on my 550 and 456M and looks just as good as the factory badges. The good thing about this is that you can remove them anytime without having to worry about the permanently drilled holes. Also carbon fiber shields look good but I am not sure if they stand out in a black background color. Yellow shields would stand out more (just my opinion).

I think there is a shop that will indent the fender so that the shields will look stock. Wouldn't be cheap, but you are already looking at spending serious money.

I wouldn't drill otherwise. Remove the posts and attach them with good quality double sided tape.

Not that you asked, but you might find this interesting. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355/389839-shields-compare.html

Thanks for your opinions guys, I appreciate it! I was hoping to get a reply from someone who had put the fender badges on a car that didn't have the indentations. I guess i'll be the first! lol

I'll post some pics in a few weeks with them done.

I think BSU is giving you good advice in removing the posts and using appropriate tape to install them so that you can avoid permanent alterations to the fender.
You may also want to try to photoshop them on first to see how they would look on a black car.

Personally, I wouldn't drill holes in a Ferrari body panel. But its your car. So if you are going to spend over $1500 just for the badges, you might want to consider the yellow ones. I have a yellow 360 and it came with the yellow OEM fender shields. The yellow on yellow was not great contrast and so I switched to the black carbon fiber accessory shields. I would think that black on black might have the same issue as yellow on yellow.

Thanks guys, yea i'm thinking i should just zip the posts off and install them with the best double sided tape a guy can get. The dealershipe should know which to use. I found this picture of the black on black, i love the look, and it'll match my center wheel caps as well. Wish i could find a black/silver front hood badge too :)

Jim400i is the guy to contact for new, nice quality stick on's. I've had the fakes on my first and third fcars, the 430 in the middle had factory scuderia shields. I don't think anyone in the meets begrudges you having stick ons. I've never sensed it anyway. Back when the 360 was built it wasn't a compulsory option like it was with the 430's and everything else now, but because it is now the older cars look more naked than they should. I'm with the guys that say don't drill. It's not necessary. People that know understand, people that don't can't tell the difference.

Also just my opinion, but I think normal yellow shields will look great on your car, and I think show a little better than something that looks like it would never have been on it from the factory. If they ever need to come off, dental floss and a little buffing.

I like the black on black. The silver sets it off. Different effect than yellow on yellow.

I definitely agree with above to cut/grind the posts off. Make sure you grind them flush, as any rough edge could wear through the double sides tape and eat into the paint.

Cool look that's removable in the future.

I'm thinking of getting the black/black as well since it'll match nicely with my wrapped 360 spider.
