I am having problems with my top going down, I have to push the middle bar back to get the top to close right. I am being told to replace the elastic straps for a fix, and would appreciate it if someone could tell me where to purchase them. I have someone to install them, but he asked me to get them.

I have the same issue with mine and was told just to purchase normal elastic from a fabric shop / haberdashery.... there's apparently nothing special about the elastic that Ferrari use.

Same here, sometimes it folds towards the front which is wrong and by doing that it marks a couple of square dents on the plastic along with creases, the window should fold towards the back, and yes I was told the straps get weak overtime, my solution?? push it just like you do so, I do not think I want to mess with the top mechanics for a couple of straps.

Any shop that works on convertible tops can help. Canvas get pulled back and the elastic straps replaced.

Reviving a not so old thread. Looking for advise from someone who has replaced their straps.

My top has just exhibited the same symptoms as described in the above threads. I have purchased the two offending straps but when I put the top midway I see several other straps of similar material.

Concerning the two that needs replacing (for causing the problems above) are they held by 2 screws? I wear bi-focals and just can't seem to find the clarity to say yes for sure since they also look like rivets

    Please and thanks

There are six straps of various lengths in the top. The two longest ones are the usual cause of trouble. They are sewn in to the top and the headliner.

When I bought my 360 a little over two years ago, both the PPI and the dealer's recommendation at the last service was to replace the straps, so I made it a condition of sale. Seller jury-rigged with elastic material probably from a 99 cent store. Two layers of the stuff stapled together with a desk stapler. Worked OK for a while, then stretched and the familiar holes in the top began to appear. Had it done properly by the shop that the dealer uses and the top now works great.

I would take your car to a quality top/upholstery shop. Find out who the dealer uses. Replacing straps is potentially a DIY, but I looked at it and thought better.

    Good Luck, Andy

    Thanks Andy.
Looks like I might be headed the same way too.
Will make a call to the dealer today.
