Hi, recently my 360 smell like gas when Im driving with the top open and when I stop.
odor is high but I dont see neither gas leaking on the floor nor inside the engine.
definetly is on the right side of the car. I smell it if I get close to the radiator after driving it.
if I dont use the car for days the odor is gone.
first thought it was bad gas so I drove until 1/4 tank and refueled in a different location but problem persist.
    any suggestion to troubleshoot?
    27k miles

    thank you

Do not drive your car until the problem is fixed.

From what I understand, the problem is the fuel pumps. The top of the pump cracks and fuel escapes, turning your car into a rolling barbeque.

I think this is a leading cause of fires in 360's.

If you have a 2001+ Spider, you can examine the fuel pump tops from the access panels in the capote tub. I think it's easier in the Modena.

    A common issue with 360 & F430.

As eastmemphis said , DO NOT drive your car until the issue is fixed or you risk engine fire.

Your fuel pumps has a crack.

Mine had the issue. Dealer confirms both fuel pumps are cracked and had to be replaced. Not a cheap repair if you take it to a dealer.

Mine was a Spider and with no fuel pump cutout access they had to remove the capote roof.

If yours is a later production 360 there is access to the fuel pumps under the convertible top.
Starting with the top in the closed position open top until the clamshell is open, stop the top movement and prop the clamshell open. You will see two access panels inside the convertible top stowage bay. 6 small allen bolts and you can visually inspect and access the pumps. Early model required removal of the convertible top cartridge. Image Unavailable, Please Login

This is the single biggest cause for fires in the 360 and 430. Do not drive.

This just happened to a buddy of mine with a 360 Coupe. When the mechanic looked at the top of the fuel pump like in the picture, there was a puddle of gasoline laying on the top of it.
It probably evaporates so you won’t smell it after the cars been off for a while.

I wouldn’t drive it, it’s not worth the risk.

Its either the fuel pump or your rollover valves have cracked..there are 4 of those. 2 in each tank. Roof tub needs to be removed for access

Confirmed it is the RH Fuel Pump. It as a puddle on that plastic with the cross in it.
Any recommendation of tool to keep the roof lid open and not use my head? LOL
Im getting the RH Fuel Pump and the tool to remove it right now.

    Thanks!

Change both pumps while you are in there. Later pumps have improved plastic covers. Otherwise you will likely be doing it again.

A hood prop is my tool of choice, although the Ferrari "special tool" is probably a Romanian broom handle cut to length..

FYI get the big ring nut as well, part number 181682, they have a habit of cracking . I assume you're getting the seal already,

What's the best tool for opening up the ring nut (besides a screw driver and hammer)?

There is a universal adjustable one available..I got mine years ago and modified it to fit the width of the Ferrari ring teeth. Maybe try Amazon? I can't remember where I got mine..
