I took these pictures at the Reading Ferrari Concours in Reading, PA in 2001. They were taken with an inexpensive 35mm camera, I finally scanned the pictures into the computer, enjoy.

What cannot be seen in these pictures is how heavy gauge the extrusions are that form the rocker boxes and the diagonals that tie in the castings where the suspension hangs on. It is all beefy stuff. If you see it in person it leaves no doubt how the chassis got so stiff for a street car. You can also see they built enough strength in it to be a spyder with out the flex the prior cars had.

At Scaglietti where it's built all the welding I saw done was by hand. The castings where the susp components are machined robotically and on a coupe, (spy was not yet in production) the entire door opening where the various layers are riveted together was done by a robotic arm.

The welding I saw done was by a guy no more than 20 and the only protective gear he was wearing was a mask. I bet he had a good sunburn going by Friday.
