I have had a heck of a time with my 2001 360 Spider not going into reverse. It happens intermittently. I had full service, belts, and new clutch. Still did it. Then the car was basically torn apart panel by panel and some bad wiring connections were found and repaired. Still did it. Checked F1 pump pressure and entire transmission, no problems there. Now the car is throwing a potentiomenter fault code. What the heck?

What the heck is right, I'm curious as I've never heard of this one?

The potentiometer is a little part that tells the F1 computer when to engage the clutch. From Ferrari, this part costs $2200.

Now there are supposedly two potentiometers. Is this right? I am getting an uneasy feeling about this.

There are 2. One keeps track of the rotational location and the other keeps track of the linear location of the gear actuator.
