Hi, if anyone has have the same problem. I have read loads of threads but I don't think this is the same.. I have an issue that has just started with the hood on my 360 Ferrari. The issue started yesterday when putting the hood down it stopped half way. The pump was not running, almost like the power was switched off. After switching the ignition of and back on I managed to close the top, although it need a little help.

During the drive home the "Top Open" warning light came on a few times but just briefly.

Today the roof wouldn't open. No pump running, nothing. I manually opened the top half way. I cleaned and oiled all the moving parts. The top would not close so I closed it manually. I switched the car off and back on. I pushed the switch to open the top and it worked perfectly! Full cycle roof open :) I went to close it again and nothing, no pump and no indication it was going to move :( . I started the procedure to close the top manually, stopped halfway, switched on the ignition, pushed the switch and the top started to come out of it's box. It stopped halfway! Again the pump stopped running... I manually close the top the rest of the way and I'm going to leave it closed as we have snow on the ground.

I have checked the hydraulics level in on the pump, it's about three quarters full, I'm guessing if it was low I would still hear the pump running?

I'm guessing it's sensors but that is only a guess. Can any one suggest what I should look at next?

    Thanks
    Mark

Sounds electrical or the pump. One thing I not telling the pump to run. The fact to there was an open warning means it could be as simple as a micro switch. Sadly, I'd say get it to a dealer :(

My advice is take it to someone with some experience. Aside from topping up the fluid, it can be an expensive lesson DIY'ing the capote mechanism. It's easy to start pending the arms on micro switches and suchlike in an attempt to get it to work, but I've already had one where a customer tried to fix it himself, as the roof opened after his "repair" it snapped the rear r/h roof bow. This part is not available seperately. Result; entire new roof mechanism required.

I have to agree that self-diagnosing and repairing the roof is not an easy job. The items that you can check by yourself, with relative ease, and without causing any damage are fuses, the hydraulic pump relay, and the fluid level.

Your fluid level doesn't sound is if it's terrible, besides which, even if it is low this wouldn't explain why the pump isn't running.

See if you can swap-out the pump's relay. If this doesn't fix it and you're not in the mood for a horrible self-diagnosis and repair, take it to an F shop who know what they're doing.
