Conversely, how do you removed the wind deflectors? I would like to work on the car and they are temporarily in the way.

    Are they removable?

Yes quite easily. Just get the top to stop vertically and support the fiber glass lid so it doesn’t close. I think it’s a 5 mm hex screw that holds them in...2 for each deflector. Thinking back you may need two different Allen keys. Takes about 30 mins not more. Just a cramped space. More time to put them back. There is a u tube video that shows removal.

    Hi All,

My deflector trim is disintegrating as well and I'd like to fix it using the local gasket solution that you guys have been talking about...anybody have an online source to purchase?

    Thank you!

Home Depot is mentioned in an earlier post, but I can't find the actual product, hopefully the chap who purchased there will see this and comment with the details as I've got this project on my Winter worklist too.

I found one on HD which is 30 ft of 0.3125" width material:

It has this profile which I think would be ok, but even better was if it had the 'T' shape to go in the groove of the deflector?

I'm going to measure the width of the old molding and if it's close then will try it.

keep us posted. I tried an experiment of covering the frame with some flexible black foam tubing to hide the old gasket - didn’t work. Where the frame changes directions, the hose would kink and it looked silly. I’ll be most interested to see how your HD molding conforms to the frame shape, and if it tries to buckle when the direction changes.

Do you have the link for that product?
Although I live in the UK I'm sure I can get someone to ship me a length to give a repair a try
