Best system to buy? Or custom-made? Any CEL or tuning issues after?
The best sound Is the capris to level 3, which is essentially straight. It's amazing sound but very loud and drones under 4K rpms. I have it on now and will be removing for something quieter. I have a spider, so a coupe may be more tolerable. It's loud enough that is need earplugs driving more than 30 minutes...and as a reference I've had loud cars and stereo systems in most cars...it's really loud
That's exactly what I want. My 911 turbo is straight pipe and my corvette has the exhaust actually running inside the car. It's 416 cube too. I love loud and these cars are begging for it.
I'm planning on selling mine, or check out the sponsor of this forum, yellow compass, bought mine from him...great deal and very stand up guy
Carter, There are a few different combinations you can choose to run on the 360 platforms to achieve a "straight piped" sound. I will message you and go over a couple options/combinations I think you're looking to go in.
I have a catalytic bypass pipe aka straight pipe with Tubi exhaust and no CEL. Need to install simple MAF extenders on the bypass pipe to prevent CEL.
straight pipes without anything in between will be ugly loud. i mean ugly by not pleasant to the ear. just MHO. u need to tune the ecu for the cel. straight pipes are for track cars.
i have an 04 Spider that had a Capristo 3 can when I bought the car in 05... I put GruppM intake boxes on along with Hyperflow cats (no longer in business) and the car sounded great... this past summer I added Fabspeed headers and a couple of things changed.. I immediately had a heavy drone sound from idle up to the 2500-3000 range... did think that I can feel an improvement in torque in the mid-range....and the sound above 4000 is really good... kinda got past the drone part but if you drive around town a bunch it may be an issue.... prior to the header addition, my Ferrari dealership guys thought it was the best sounding 360 in the area...
