HI . 04/360 F1 spider (low mi. unblemished). Fab-Speed headers/Fab-speed cats/Tubi muffler/tips, plus many other non-invasive mods. Full ECU upgrade by Fab-Speed etc. Question: I have the ability to get a TCU from a salvaged Challenge car for low/no cost. Wondering if there is going to be interface problems with the existing set-up? Ramifications re: performance...production dates for the TCU challenge units that will NOT cause issues etc. Facts based on experience (not conjecture) would be much appreciated.
    Thanks Much!

No problems, as long as it is a Stradale TCU not a Challenge TCU.

Challenge race car TCU has VERY harsh clutch engagement compared to even Stradale TCU. And the older Challenge TCU units do not allow PIS adjustments.

We had a similar (maybe you?) call about this on Tuesday. Personally, I can't imagine that a Challenge TCU (or ECU for that matter) would be very tolerable on a road-going 360.

I may have the ability to try it out and see.... I believe its out of a challenge stradale...but I'm not entirely sure yet of the year/model and vin. It's out of a salvaged car that the dude is bailing on. I don't want my gearbox to get harsh wear or damage, just maybe a quicker shift? I don't really know what the result will be (input here from u guys appreciated), but if it's just a simple swap and go for a few miles to check it out... Thanks guys.

If it's a Stradale TCU all you have to do is install it and use a SD3 or SD2 to set the clutch wear settings and PIS setttings and that's it! I bought one for my 360 from Daniel at Ricambi and it was flawless....yes nice difference on the shifting, more crisp.

Isn't there a pretty long thread about trying to get a Challenge TCU to work on the 360. As I recall, it isn't straight forward.

It is, I've done it and it was as simple as hooking up the SD2. Let's not over think this one as it's been covered and done.

Agreed on the CS TCU. The Challenge is a completely different car. Please clarify if you used the CS or the Challenge race car parts.

Thanks Dave, much appreciated!. I'm waking up..and should read more! What $ are these TCU's going for used? I also have a shot at the Calipers and roters....What $ do they run, and are they a simple bolt-on (to the modular rim set-up that I currently have), or are there other issues that crop up? THANKS MUCH.
