I'm posting this for a colleague who has a 360.

Does anyone have a source for thermo couplers (or exhaust temperature probes for the cats). Apparently Ferrari wants his house and kids for them LOL

I shopped around and found the front ones at autozone for $109 a piece. Simply search the part # and then call around. Amazing differences in pricing.....they are standard Bosch parts

Hmmm...looking it up I think those were the front o2 sensors. Ricambi has the thermocouplers.

Are you referring to O2 sensors?

What is his issue? Thermo's m usually result in a "slow Down" light. Is that his issue?

Yes, I was mistaken there. My front o2 sensors needed replacing for a smog issue here in calif. I have changed my thermos also because of the intermittent slow down light.

That is what my 2004 spider did also. Simple and cheap to replace. Cheers!

It's either the thermocouples or the thermocouple ECUs causing the SD light to come on with the engine still cold. The best value for aftermarket thermocouples seems to be Technistrada (see post #4). Technistrada also make aftermarket thermocouple ECUs or "Catalytic temperature control station" as it is also known (Ferrari P/N 179278):

Ratarossa on YouTube has a video on diagnosing SD problems.

Qavion, have you confirmed that your 2ndary air pump is coming on?

Probably best to ask @AceMaster ;) .. but why would a secondary air pump issue cause an SD light with the engine cold?

the 2ndary air pump comes on when the engine is cold to force air into the headers to encourage the cats to come alive

Understood. One of the functions of secondary air is to help heat up the cats more quickly, but isn't the SLOW DOWN light primarily used to indicate excessively high exhaust temperatures? If the 2ndary air pump is not working, wouldn't the exhaust system not heat up more quickly (but also throw a CHECK ENGINE light)?

many times a slow down CEL comes from the thermocouples not correctly reading even though the exhaust temps could be OK

so there is either a temp imbalance or bad thermocouple apparently

I would think a CEL should come up if pump does not come on

I had a bearing go bad in a 2ndary air pump. The pump worked noisily until replaced. So I never got a CEL for that

this scenario sounds like the dog chasing his tail

Holy crap this sounds great! I just got new cat ECUs but didn’t know about this one. Looks like a cheaper way to do it, and does it cheat the motor ECU concerning voltage and temp? Would love to chat with business owner about this if you’re here!

Not at all. It replicates the OEM electronics precisely using sturdier electronics. The unit is smaller and ligher. The casing may not be as "polished-looking" as the OEM, but it does the job. See the website pics for reference.

Technistrada does make a dummy ECU for "no cat" applications, but this will not work on the 360 (only on earlier cars, such as the F355). This is a "cheat", but works well on the earlier cars without cats.

Does anyone know a way of installing these without taking half the back end apart. This 360 has stock exhaust.

Can be accessed by lifting out the air intake in most cases.

If you can get to the nut at the end of the cat, why not cut the wire heading to CAT ECU, and install new thermocouple the way you want to? Does it really have to be fastened at the bottom of the air box?

Does it make a difference if spider or hardtop?
