I was out tooling around the back roads this morning, and the throttle in my 360 stuck partially open. Nothing like coming into a 25 mph turn, getting off the gas to get on the brake before the turn, and having the car not slow down at all. Oh, wait, this is Italian cruise control....

Pushed the clutch in and the "idle" was about 5000 rpm. Got pulled off to the side of the road and started to check things out, all the time with visions of a trying to tell a flatbed my location on some small back country road.

As it turns out, the trim panel just foward of the pedals had shifted, and was binding the rod between the gas pedal and the potentiometer (the gizmo that converts throttle movement into electrical signals to go to the electronic throttles). It is normally held in with two screws, one of which was missing in action. I actually used the phillips screwdriver in the tool kit to remove the other screw and thus the panel, and was able to motor trouble free on the rest of the drive.

Nevertheless, it might be worth the time of all the 360 owners on the board to crawl up into the drivers footwell and check the tightness of these two screws.

Does that mean you took a $5k depreciation on your car because you actually opened and used the tool kit! :)
