If you have replaced timing belts on a 360, I would be interested in your comments: Question 1: Are there two timing control belts? The parts list on my 30k service invoice indicates that two Timing Control Belts were used. Question 2: Ive replaced timing belts on various cars, most recently my Volvo S90. Is replacing belts on a 360 more difficult than replacing belts on other cars? Thanks.
Ans#1: yes, there are two timing belts. Ans#2: Ohh yes, it is more complicate than comun cars. I recommend you get the workshop manual.
Q1 Yes. (Don't forget the aux belts as you might as well do them at the same time). Q2 You will need the special electronic tool to set and measure the correct belt tension. This is an expensive engine and to get a professional to do the belts on a 360 is not expensive when compared to previous models (355 & 348 engine out jobs). Personally, unless you are very confident I wouldn't risk it.
B360- Time for some homework. Go to this site and download a workshop manual and see if you want to tackle the job. If you screw it up, though, the 360 has an interference valvetrain, unlike many cars, and you will bend 16-32 valves. That being said, many 360 owners do the job themselves and there is no reason you cannot do it. Just make sure you get it right. Will require buying a few tools, probably.
