Do you have to remove the engine to change Timing Belts on a 360 Spider?

I read that access to the front of the engine was more limited in the early spiders. I've searched, but I cannot find details on when it was changed and what exactly is the difference. Does anyone know? I wouldn't normally resurrect an old thread, but I thought the picture above might have bearing on the question.
It's not engine access that differs. The problem comes when you want to lift the engine frame, for example to change the upper trans mount or to do the clutch; the earlier spiders didn't have an access hatch within the roof bay to remove the forwards bolts...
