Has anybody gone from a 360 to a 550? If so did you miss your 360 or did the enjoyment of the 550 make up for it?

I know there very different cars but was curious to hear your comments.

I have a Stradale and at times miss the torque, (relative) practicality and (relative) understated elegance of the 575.

When I traded my first 360 for the 575, at times I missed having the lighter on its feet "sportscar" feel of the 360.

    Life is Hell.

David, all kidding aside, if I had to choose 360 v 575 for use on relatively short driving vacations, errands about town, but no track time, I'd pick the Maranello. The Maranello had all the power I wanted, and terrific handling, with what to me was a far more comfortable cockpit than that of the 360.

I lean towards track use, so the Stradale made sense. I drive the Stradale everywhere, but it's not as, well, friendly as the Maranello.

And then again there's that beautiful Maranello torque ....

    Good luck, cheers, Will

i know a guy who upgraded from a 355 to a 550. he says that he should have gotten a 360 instead of the 550.

dont know if that helped any...

faced similar predicament few months ago....in the end for me, it was a question of look vs performance....the 550 power is plainly over-the-top but her look is unassuming and too gentleman-like 4 my taste....hence, i opted for the later :) (sound shallow...i know).

I wouldn't say shallow Tom,I can agree with you 100% in what you say.If I hadn't had my M5 I would of gone for the 360 at the drop of a hat.I like the classy looks of the 550 and I know the girlfriend would rather get out of the big shark at the Hotel entrance than the 360.I travel quite a few miles so the 55o would suit me better I think. Here I go again.......talking myself out of a 360!! It's a hard choice......help!!!!

about a year ago, i purchased a 550. already had a 355 spider, and thought owning both would be a great way to enjoy the best of both worlds, the sporty agility of the 355 and the power of the 550.
kept the 550 9 months. didn't like it. traded it on an F1 360. i think if i were travelling a lot of miles, and needed to do it in speed and (relative) comfort, the 550 would be perfect. but that's not what i own the ferraris for. i enjoy the sporty, almost go-kart like feel of the 360 (and 355) - compared to the 550 anyway.
both are *fantastic* cars, so it comes down to your reason for ownership.
    good luck.

Depends on what you want with the car. Had a 360M when I purchased my 550. Loved both. Since then changed the 360M to a 360 Spider (hated that one) and the 550 to a 575M (love that one). Currently I have a 575 and my 430 is ready at the dealer (traded the 360Sp in).

The 360 is great for sunday fun, but it just can't beat the 575 for practicality and style. I drive the 575 everywhere - I didn't do that with the 360's. They were more for Sunday fun on a twisty road. If I could only choose one - either 575 or 360 my money would be on the 575. The same would go for the 360 vs. 550 choice. I'd take the 550, simply because I knew I'd be using it a lot more. I like the style and "class" of the Maranello.

    Just my £0.02...

I went from a 550 to a 360 6-spd after owning the 550 for about one year. The 550 had mind boggling torque, but I found the 360 more nimble and fun to drive. Although I found the 550 to be more comfortable around town, I have no regrets jumping to the 360. I put about 1000 miles on the 550 in 1 yr, and about 7000 on the 360 in about 15 months.

The 550 is a more similar drive to your M5 than a 360, David. That being so, if the M5 stays, the 360 might be the better choice. If the M5 goes, then maybe the 550 gets the nod.
