I'm looking for some advice on some alternate pad choices for track days with the 360. I've been pleased with the performance of Hawk DTC-70 Fronts/Hawk HT-10 Rears on my E46 M3. Obviously these are two very different cars.

Has anyone tried the Hawk DTC line in the 360? Any recommended pad combinations front to rear? Can anyone shed light on what other current pad choices would be good for one to two track days per year in the 360?

    Thanks!

I have had a lot of great luck with the DTC's on other cars too...

How many times now have you tracked your car? I'm really interested in doing a track day with mine. Are you pretty much doing a complete service after a track day?

I'd stick with the DTC 70's / HT-10's. Not in an F-car here but I'm running that combo when I track at Road America and it works great for me. Longevity I see is 2 track days if I'm entering corners at maximum, up to 4 days longevity if I'm conservative (80-ish%).

This will be a first for the 360. It just came back from a minor service with fresh engine and trans oil in addition to brake and clutch flush.

I don't intend on doing a "complete" service after - there would be no real need for that much. Fluids are most important so I will probably do fresh engine oil afterwards depending on observed temperatures while on track.

I use the carbotech line... they hold up, reasonably priced, and you can work your way up and down the line to balance things out and try to manage heat. That being said, I now have upsized the front to eliminate fluid overheating problems. Anyway, XP10 front XP8 rear works for me - then switch to street pads after the drive home.

Do you know what fluid they put in the brakes?

Thanks Nathan - appreciate the info. The car has Motul 5.1 fluid in it now. Dry boiling point of 522F. I run Stoptech STR660 in my M3.

Hown rough are the dt60's on rotors? I plan to make a similar switch on my 355 as I was only getting about 5 laps before the brakes would fade on the stock brakes, but I want something that is easy on the rotors. I don't care if I have to change the pads often, but at $350 a rotor I can do a full set of pads for the cost of a single rotor.

I went with Ferodo DS2500s. They were great on track, definite upgrade over stockers. Slight bit of squeak on the roads but it's a trade off.
