Does anyone know what the paint code is for the bottom side of a 360 hood. It is flat black and Im wondering if it is anything special or if flat black is flat black. Any help would be great.

    Thanks, Ryan

Flat black is like interior house paint it comes in several different sheens. I'm not sure of what exactly is used in the 360, but it is probably a semi-gloss or satin finish. You may have to try a couple different brands to get the right sheen.

I have used SEM self-etching black primer on my 328 and it matches well. The SEM paint is kind of pricy, but available in spray cans at automotive body shop supply stores. A paint supply store can help you pick the correct sheen.

The SEM interior flat black seems to match.
On my 360 all the black paint (engine bay, door trim etc) seems very soft and easily scratched off. In fact I am thinking of using a black vinyl sticker around the hood release catch as I scratch the underside of the hood when releasing this catch.

The SEM trim black that comes in the spray can matches well. But im not comfortable, using a spray can on such a large area. I have used it in the past on small areas, and it matches perfectly. I guess they should be able to get the same product in a pint and just spray it through a gun. I'll check.

    Thanks
