I have a 360 F1 and one of my issues with the car is the clutch overheating especially in prolonged stop and go traffic going uphill.

Does the 430 F1 have his problem? Can you also go up hill in reverse without worry?

Also, the 360 timing belts are recommended to be changed every 3 years, do the 430 timing chains require this frequent replacement?

Time to move from San Francisco :D My F430 hasn't experienced this issue. Not really in too many hilly areas though.

While I can't speak to your question about the 430 and driving up hills, I know backing up a hill is the harshest thing (short of launch control) you can do to your clutch.

The 430 timing chain is a design improvement over the 360 timing belt and do not need to be replaced. The 430 was designed to be a lower maintenance car than the 360 in this regard.
