    OK, I have a 360 F1, I love it.

I drove the F430 and thought, is this worth the extra price?

I had the opportunity to get the F430, was on the list from the beginning. But after a test drive decided it was not worth it. It was faster, quicker shifting yes, but worth an extra 100K for a slight improvement...no.

Barely a difference in my opinion for alot of extra dough. Don't get me wrong the F430 is one mean machine...but I think the price will go down faster than the 360 did...

if that is the case drop your avatar. I doubt many will agree with your opinion. I sense the 430 is head and shoulder above a 360. I will confirm this in september this year.

The F-430 remind me of one of the first things I learned in Economics 101, Supply vs. Demand and Ferrari has mastered it perfectly.

Two years ago when I bought my 355 spider, I test drove a 360 spider. I posted at that time that I thought to 360 was not worth 100K more. Now that I have driven my 360, it really is worth the difference. When my number comes up for a 430 spider, my guess is the price difference will be 50-60K and I am sure it will be worth the diffenence. I remember one F chattered posting after my post that maybe is was "sour grapes" rationale. Maybe he was right.

Have Ferrari's ever been about "being worth the price'? I don't think so or we would all be driving Z06"s. Isn't it about lust, passion and "I must have that"?

Things one is truly passionate about or lust for ARE worth the price of admission. Clearly the thread starter isn't lusting over the F430 enough or else he'd make himself justify the price.

Taking a slightly different angle, its the same reason why a lot of these people negotiate the prices of their F cars or search for months at a time. They're looking for that price they feel is worth it and not just whatever someone is looking to sell it for.

You, sir, have just explained precisely why 360 prices will NOT plummet, as many people have predicted, at least for the forseeable future.

For what will amount to 1/3 the price (~$100k vs. ~$300k), you can now get a car which most will agree is a heck of a lot more than 1/3 the car...

I think 430 is all-round much better than 360 from reading in the stats and because of 430 then 360's price will drop even further.

I give you credit for offering your honest opinion when you know that it is not going to be the popular opinion on this board.

Like you, I have a 360, which I love, and I am in line for a 430. I hope my test drive experience will be different than yours and I will see an appreciable difference between the two cars. If I do not, I hope I have the fortitude to call it as I see it, just as you have done.

How do you come up with there being a $100k price difference between the 360 & 430? Is your 360 an early year with a good amount of miles?

I think anybody who gets a 430 within the next few months will likely be able to drive it for free for the first 12-18 months, maybe more or less depending on a few factors. So, if you have the chance to get a 430 anytime soon, I would jump on the opportunity, as it's almost a certainty that you won't lose anything. When 360s first hit the market, some people drove them for 2-3 years and put a good amount of miles on them, then turned around and sold them for the exact amount they paid.

good point jeff, in fact, if you are earily on the list to buy a 430, you d be a fool not to jump on it...you can always resale it for 50-60 profit, or drive it for a few years for free.....and the 430 is better in every way and almost a full second faster to 60 and the quarter....and 360s will drop in value only after there are several thousand 430s out there...perhaps in two years...ferrari may make up to 20 thousand 430s over the next 5 years...most of them already sold, ..this will be the best selling exotic of all time....it will only cause downward pressure on 360 prices....

thanks for the post, i think the f430 is a nice car but residuals wont hold, the 360 prices are low at the mo, but will recover a little when people realise they aint getting an f430 for a long time

but when people realise they won't get a 430 for a long time , this will encourage 430 owners to sell for profit or break square so residuals will hold, it's a circle that goes round and round.

there are always people who wanna be seen in the latest cars, only the dealers will amke money, it was the same with the 360 a few made money but on the whole it only shifted the market slightly

Interesting opinion and one I'd agree with. Now here's the funny part, if you had of already plunked down the $200+ big ones then chances are this post would be tooting the 430 as the best car to ever exist. It seems to be how this works. I think we can all agree the 430 at or near sticker makes a lot of sense. Now, 6 figures better than a 360, if you have to get one at market is another story.
