    shorter bolts as mentioned
watch the tire rolling diameter as mentioned - not all manufactures make the exact right size. I've got 275/35 on the rear and it's a tad too big in radius

235/40 on the fronts provide nice increase in bite without overly increasing low speed turn effort.

The picture below is 265/35 rears

The top three tires are Michelin PS2, Bridgestone SO3 replacing RE something or other and Toyo T1-S. The Bridgestone are exceedingly noisy. The Toyo are probably the best value but all are up there for dry grip, cornering grip, wet grip etc. All three are max ultra summer performance. The Bridgestone have the best wet grip and the best grip at the wear bars.

I just picked up a set of 360 wheels for my 94 Spider. Still waiting on their arrival but I have been reading these threads for some time. It seems to me that many of you with this setup have experimented with tire sizes and pressures. The set I purchased includes a new set of Michelin Pilot Sports:

    Front: 215/45/18
    Rear: 275/40/18

I know this sizes are OEM for the 360 rim, and most of you are running 225 in the front, and 275/35 in the back. Any problems with the stock tire size other then look? I know Elgin328 ran the stock setup with no problem before moving to the new sizes. Is there any performance or handling difference between the OEM or now preferred tire sizes?

I will have to contact Daniel at Ricambi for the correct wheel bolts to fit these.....do I need new fronts or just the rears?

My car has the standard wheels and I am looking to put something more up to date as the original wheels look quite dated. Are there any issues with rubbing as the rear wheel in the picture of the yellow car looks as though they are past the wheel arch?

    Hey Elgin!

Do you have a comparison when you had your previous tires on the car? 215/45 and 275/40?

My new set is coming with the OEM tires....advise, problems?

Old tires with no rubbing but, there is about a 1.5" defference in height between the front & the rear with the stock 360 set up.
It don't look bad but, to me the fronts are to skinny & the rears are a little to tall but, it still looks better than stock 348 wheels. (too me)

With 225/40 fronts & 275/35 rears there is only about a 1/2" height difference front to rear.

Awesome.....thanks much that is exactly what I needed to know!!

Not sure I want to cough up the $$$ for new rubber to change the tire size with new rubber already on the purchased rims...grrrr

But I will definatly be changing them out with the new sizes when the time comes!!

You will need shorter wheel bolts for the rear (the same length as the front, 54mm I think.) I got mine from Hill Engineering. Just tell them what you are doing & they will send the right length.
