That would be awesome, but I can't find anyone willing to do it. I think I'll throw a used one in there while I take a look at my old one and see if I can't get it working again.
Update: I may have a set of regulators that have been rebuilt with upgraded materials with a lifetime warranty. Replace both. Trust me. I can let both go for $1700 or maybe work out an exchange for your old ones. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi all, I’m reviving this thread just to say “Thank you” to all the contributors! I’ve had a gap along the vertical edge of the rear of my windows, both sides, since I bought my car 2.5 years ago, and it’s bothered me ever since. It would allow rain in (yes, I drive it in the rain), and it would make for a lot of wind noise on the highway which was quite tiresome after awhile. I put off attempting this adjustment for years for the fear of something breaking and/or not going back together like it should. I’m happy to report that the adjustment was super easy, and in my case, all I needed was the two bolts along the bottom edge of the glass, and the single bolt on the clamp at the back corner of the window. Now sits flush and snug to the weatherstrip. Gap is gone. Perfect! What’s not so perfect (albeit besides the point for this thread) is that I also decided to swap in new outer door handle cables as preventative maintenance for this common failure while I already had the door opened up. I bought these cables last summer knowing I would attempt the cables and the window adjustment all at the same time eventually. The big “whoops” for this job came when I was trying to dislodge the plastic cable fitting from the bracket on the door lock actuator. It was absolutely not budging. Eventually, when I tried hard enough, the bracket snapped off the actuator. I tried for hours to reattach it multiple ways, and finally epoxied it back on and let it sit overnight. In the meantime, I ordered a new/used actuator from FerrParts to keep on the shelf for when/if my repair ever fails. Once I learned all my mistakes from the drivers door, the passengers adjustment and cable swap was a drama-free piece of cake. Long story short, thanks again FChatters!!
