    Can anyone tell me the name of the black material type electrical tape used on the wiring looms.

    Manufacturerers use a variety of material when making wiring looms. From heat shrink tubing and common electrical tape to braided sleeving and lacing tape.

    One company with a variety of material common in the industry is Techflex. Here is their link to wiring loom lacing tape.

    Another common material is wiring harness tape. Usually made of flexible fabric and can be non adhesive or adhesive backed. Do a Google search for "wiring harness tape"
