In my quest for a 360 I found a perfect car ….. but with a very wrong paint. Ferrari dealer is saying that they can paint it in any color I want.
Is it a big mistake, please advise because I really don´t know what to do.

If its not the colour you want its not perfect

Depending on where you are and how tired you are of looking there should be many more out there currently without the hassle of a five thousand Euro respray - from Portugal you can be looking at cars almost anywhere in Europe which should give quite a selection

Move on. There are too many other cars out there without having to have them repainted. I wouldn't be interested. Be patient, your car will come along.

Why don't you put on this post what you're looking for and perhaps we can find one for you, maybe even from a member on the forum.

    Cheers.

    +1 I agree completely.

    A bumper respray, typical.
A whole-car respray, atypical and the car now has a story.

No matter how good the repaint is, there will always be areas that will show the other color. Personally, that would drive me insane and would be something I couldn't deal with.

Be patient. It's not a perfect car if it's not perfect in your eyes.

I agree that the poster should keep searching.

But I disagree with this statement. I've painted over a dozen cars and, if they are being done the right way, there is no reason a high-quality paint job can't meet or exceed anything from the factory. It isn't cheap, but it certainly can be done right (although I do agree it creates a story when re-selling).

IMHO, if you need to ask this question, you have not been searching long enough.
If you've spent more than a few days of looking you will see that there are indeed many, MANY cars, in various colors, to pick from.

Or perhaps you are after an exceedingly rare color????

Then you've painted about 12 more car than I have... so mine statement is more speculation.

I wasn't talking about paint quality, but coverage. Ferrari factory paint leaves a lot to be desired and I know there are good paint shops who'll do a better job than the factory. My point was it's difficult to hide the original color completely as the car was painted in the factory before most of the car was assembled. To reproduce this degree of coverage would require a lot of work.

Unless done well, it would take 30 seconds to find the original color.

    BrokenArrow made great points.

There are many cars. Forget the BS that they will paint it as you like.

Earl Scheib paint jobs are for Fords and Chevys!

    Take your time.
