Nice pics! Sorry you had car trouble, I hope you can get it fixed for good this time.

We had a great time today, glad the weather held and actually turned out to be quite beautiful.

Thanks Tillman for organizing this and thanks to everyone for kindly welcoming a non-Ferrari owner.

    Regards,

    Dusty

The Fall Rally was a huge success The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Thanks to Tillman for all the organizational work and for letting me be involved in the road mapping. Thanks to Rob and Jennie for making sure my driving skills were up to par.

We had a blast and look forward to next years drive.

p.s. Jim - can you include me on the high res distro list. Those pictures are great! LOL.

What makes you all think I have high-res versions of these? I have my camera set on a lower res, not sure why I do it, but I do. What you see is what I've got.

Ok, ok, I'll change the res on the camera for next time.

Greg, same old 'oil leak on the exhaust manifold' problem. During a pretty high speed run chasing the Lambo, I got yet another cloud of white smoke. Thanks again to the entire line of cars pulling over, it was appreciated but not necessary. I took the 'short route' from where the problem occurred, and kept the speed down. It did give me the chance to take a lot of pictures though.

Thanks Tillman for coordinating a fun event. You deserve a standing ovation!

Great pics, Jim. You're a good man for taking all these pics, and still enjoying somehow the day despite your trouble w/ your 328. Hope it'll work out to your satisfaction or for the better. Consider it could be the time you move on to the next ONE.

Brian, now you have a good memory w/ your C5. It makes hard for you to be part with. Or now you can move onto the next ONE.

Greg, It was a bonus for me to get a ride in his lovely TR. It has a great sound!!

Frances, your son is so polite & well-mannered. Now if you can drive your car as good as being a mother... (just kidding, I couldn't resist the line)

It was nice to meet all these people again.

LOL. This is coming from the man whose had 8 (i think that is the latest count) car accidents? :) Maybe you should think about keeping one hand on the wheel and one hand on the road, Helen Keller. ;)

Jayson and I talked about it a little bit, but Jennie and I think that the cyclist we passed with no helmet was Lance Armstrong's USPS/now Discovery teammate Patrick McCarty. I'm confirming with Pat's coach and Lance's former coach Max Miley if it was him. Wouldn't surprise me, he stays in the area most of the time when not racing overseas or doing a team camp. Keeping up 100-140 miles a day I guess you could end up way out in nowhere NW of Denton. :)

If so, crazy to be on a road with no shoulder, no helmet, and 120 mph exotics roaring by. I bet it made him feel like he was back in Europe. :) Back when he was 16 and still 10 times better than me I got off the front of a training ride for a few miles. Pat bridged the gap solo and then dragged me along another couple miles before a semi passed us. Last I heard from him was "Come on, let's draft the truck, this will be fun". No way in heck, but I watched him stay glued on that bumper off into the distance 40-50 mph.

Oh come on! Frances & Jim!!

More than 2/3 of accidents were not my fault, really. I couldn't believe my fortune when Seattle police rear ended me in the sunny day at 4-way stop! Good thing it was MR2 (or was it Supra...)

It's not a dent, maybe a ding! No one ever noticed it but you, Jim. I'm thinking I may got that in Autocrossing or Rob's party! I remember someone who owns a white car parked right next to me at that party, hehehe. (I seriously don't know when or where I got that ding)

Or maybe Gretchen did took my car for spin after all, huh, Rob??

Anyway, I will eventually fix it as I probably better repaint my front bumper, too.

Well, either Pat's dad or brother responded to a post on another forum that it wasn't Pat. Oh well, thought we had a celebrity sighting. I should know exactly who it was within a few days. Looked like a good cyclist anyway.
