About to have my 360cs get its yearly service for the first time. What all does this service consist of and average cost? Options for Ferrari certified shops are Continental, Lake Forest, or St. Louis Bentley/Maser. Any recommendations which or any others in these areas?

Thanks in advance for your responses

Just had mine done last week. Average cost is between $1400-$1700 for the service. Of course extra charge for any extras they find or you want done outside the normal service.

Both Continental and LFF have good reputations.

Jason, was that for a "full" annual service through a dealer or is that with an independent? Dealers around here charge $1400-$1700. Pretty comprehensive service for an annual if you ask me. This was my first service on the CS and surprised how much they do.

It's my second service on my CS. Both times it was the same price.

Your service may have been more comprehensive. I just asked for a "yearly service".

Now you have me curious. I would like to hear from others. Is it really that much more here in SoCal? What is everyone else paying for their annual CS service?

I have a basic list here of services due yearly:

    Engine Oil service
    Check tensioners/auxiliary belts for wear
    Replace cabin filter
    Check brake fluid level
    Check F1 fluid levels
Check Power steering fluid level & bleed if necessary
    Inspect brake tubes and connections
    Inspect brake discs and pads
    Confirm dash warning light functions
    Inspect/test Battery performance
    Treat leather surfaces
    Inspect tires & rims
    Confirm dash bulb illumination
    Test drive vehicle
    Confirm wheel lug torque

Obviously other minor checks like washer fluid, coolant, wiper blades, tire pressures, cursory check of the OBD2 for codes etc., are assumed.

BTW... The Two Year service gets more complex & expensive.

My service included replacement of all fluids so a little more comprehensive service. Probably accounts for the added cost. This raises the question what really is needed to keep the car well maintained without going over board? Especially when you only put 500 miles a year on the car.

I'm not sure stuff like power steering fluid and F1 fluid need to be drained and replaced yearly. Even the manual says a top off is fine.

Oil and brake fluid should be changed.

Keep in mind that the quickest way for any machine to die is to not use it. Your CS should be run at a minimum of every 7 days out on the freeway for at least 15 or 20 minutes. Especially with all this ethanol gasoline. That stuff east rubber when it sits.

Yes, this is why I ask the question. What is a yearly service? An oil change and check the rest, change all fluids...what is really necessary or recommended.

Does brake fluid even need to be changed every year? I've heard without track use or excessive road abuse, every two years on brake fluid is fine. This is for the 360 though, so not sure if the cc brakes on the CS make a difference, but I'd be surprised that brake fluid needs changing in 12 months with an average of 2-3k miles of road driving tops.

does the maintenance door behind the seats need to be opened to check - Check tensioners/auxiliary belts for wear

that its self is heavy on labour especially if you have a roll bar.

    I don't know.

One CS I looked at to buy had brake fluid solidified in the lines but I think tat had more to do with years of neglect than not changing it.

I get mine at the local Ferrari/Maserati dealer.

Includes replacing all fluids, filters and inspection. $1100 list price, sometimes they run a 15% off discount, so closer to $930 last time.

The CS also had an annual (same items) done by Fusion at the time I bought it last year and IIRC it was $1100.

    Rick - I have never heard of a $1400-1700 annual on a 360 or 430...

You can check the auxiliary belts visually by removing the belly pan, but to remove the interior access panel is more thorough & preferred I believe. Its been a year, good reason to take a look around.

Brake fluid every two years is sufficient - more often if your putting extreme heat into the braking system - such as track duty. I have seen the solidified fluid as well, but it was on a garage queen Porsche that had not received brake fluid service since new (2003).

This must be a California thing. FoNB advertises $1600 for the annual and the Auto Gallery advertises $1800. Both run specials on occasion. Independents are less. My guess is that a full service on a low mile car might be a bit of an overkill. Engine oil and brake fluid are probably a minimum. For me I would rather be aggressive than conservative on the maintenance. No one said that it was going to be cheap.

Wierd. I use Scottsdale Ferrari and their hourly rate is $145). Is auto gallery more than that? I wonder if they are doing something/replacing items that somehow Scottsdale isn't. $1800 vs. $1100 is a lot of parts or 4+ hours of labor...something isn't consistent...

I pulled the invoices, Fusion was $1251 with tax and all for an annual on the CS last March. Labor was $875 (7 hours at $125 I'm guessing - the rate isn't shown). Parts etc were:

    Drain plug seal
    Oil
    Coolant
    Gear oil (differential too)
    F1 pump fluid (clutch too)
    Power steering fluid
    Brake Fluid
(oddly the air filters were'nt changed, only inspected and cleaned)
Damien's annaul includes 33 steps on the sheet they sign off on and included with the invoice.

So, if the air filters were changed perhaps another $100-200?

Oh, can't talk about Fusion without saying how great Damien was and helpful in my CS buying process (he also did a PPI for me).

Scottsale Ferrari did an annual on my Maser CS in November (similar engine and gearbox to 430 in basic design). It was the normally $1100, but with 15% off was $919 including tax.

    Was 5 hours at $145 = $725
    Included:
    change engine oil and filter
    Change engine collant
    Change brake fluid
    Bunch of inspections, etc

They didn't change any other fluids or filters (oddly the cabin and air filters look virtually new in both cars, so maybe they are changing them? I have no idea...)...so that could be part of how you go from $1100 ($919 after discount) to the higher $1251 that Fusion charged and on to the $1800 you quote...wonder what else is included in AG's annual?
