Finally, 3 years after a deposit, my 360 has arrived. For those of you who track shipping times, 2.5 weeks from docking time in New Jersey to Connecticut.

Car won't be ready for this weekend though. Installing radar and laser plus the balance of prep.

One question to the experts though. I was a bit surprised at the little waves and imperfections in the aluminum body panels, namely the doors. Also a small paint imperfection (a speck) on the drivers door. Dealer said welcome to Ferrari, most cars have little things like that but that is unfortunately typical. Car is red and under flourescent lights, so imperfections appear more readily. I would be reluctant to push for a door respray as I restore old muscle cars as a hobby and paint work is real tricky. Are these imperfections really typical ? I did look at a few cars in the showroom, nothing perfect, imperfections vary.

Thanks. BTW, despite all this (I am a perfectionist), I am real excited.

You do not want to own a Ferrari if little things bother you. It is essentially hand built and going over it with a jewelers eye will only lessen your enjoyment of it.

Having said this, if the imperfection are clearly noticeable even to the average person, then I believe it should be repaired.

i've owned three new 360 modenas and now a 360CS and all of them had little "glitches" here and there. but it doesn't really matter. the cars are absolutely beautiful even with some imperfections :) kind of adds to their character. wait until you pick up a few rock chips on the front bumper...they have medication to help you deal with it. LOL. rock chips are inevitable. some guys like stone guard, but sure enough you'll get some chips just outside the protection area. no big deal. the car doesn't mind. nobody has ever complained to me about the rock chips. i sometimes point them out to people as proof that i drive my cars daily and enjoy every mile!

have fun with your new ferrari :)

2.5 weeks is a long time........... My car is coming to CA and is at stage 90, about to get on a boat in Italy. I was figuring 4-5 weeks until I have the car but now I am thinking more like 8 (after your post). I noticed imperfections on all F cars but I guess that is how it goes.. only you can notice it. Congrats on the new car. Enjoy

Thanks for the advice, just wanted to make sure the dealer wasn't trying to blow me off. They have a great reputation. I probably expect too much in anything. Those stone chips will hurt though.

You may want to count on some extra time. I did run into the Ferrari rep at the Rockefeller Center New York 50th Anniversary Ferrari celebration. I introduced myself and asked about US processing. He said they are currently really backed up and the time could take 3 days to 5 weeks for processing. Lets hope you get the 3 day treatment.

I hope and pray that my cars gets through customs fast and safe. Enjoy your ride. Atleast I only put my deposit down a few weeks ago. 3 years is wayyyyyyyyyy too long, the wait is killing me. I go to the local dealer once a week to check out the cars, I think they are sick of me.

How much was your window sticker with the gas guzzler tax? What options did you get.
