The GT series politics has driven us out on a self imposed holiday for the time being, but the state races are still on the agenda....

    Phillip Island this weekend.........

We'll be there with Simonsen and Huglin and the 360GT.

It'll be new soft Dunlop tyres, minimum weight, full revs, biggest restrictors we've got, dumped into the weeds and ANGRY as all FnCK..... The GT series parity/seeding/ballast can JAM it where the sun don't shine... this GT car is here for FUN!!!!

Simonsen will drive on Friday at this stage...........

Can we borrow your 31.8's again? we've only got 30.8 and 29.2

edit... why don't you give it to Allan to race... the whole car.... call it a marketing exercise?

Ok, well maybe sitting behind steel screens will increase its' chances of making a sale and stepping a little bit closer to a 288.....

You know I was just digging.... If it wasn't so immaculate... you would consider it though??

Anyway... you didn't answer the question... can at least a couple of the parts from your car get a race this weeknd??

I wouldn't consider it under ANY circumstances. Why don't you ask T-Rex if you can "borrow" his 360 GT ?

Because TRex is not that fussed if his car sells or not, and he's selling his car with freshened gearbox etc. (and of course, TRex is TRex)

Your car is cosmetically near perfect, but mechanically race fit... so mechanical degradation would be minimal (yes, in theory).

And Allan simply wouldn't crash it, or allow it to get scratched... yes he's that good. He can't avoid stone chips of course.... but he'll be out front (until he laps people)

You'll need to have it fire a shot soon... or it'll get all sulky (fluids/battery/electrics etc)

Seriously.... can we borrow your 31.8's?

    Hey Mr Dee Jay....
Didnt 360C offer the use of his 360N-GT for $15k per day some time back? Plus Damage... :)

It would be an expensive state round, but would showcase the car for sale :D

    What sort of politics?

On 5th Gear this week, they have a segment on the new GT3 series in europe, now that would be great to have here!!!

For some utterly strange reason... the GT series are actively seeking to BAN professional drivers, and they're masking this with a witch hunt, rather than actually just saying "we'd rather Allan not drive the car"....

I cannot, under any circumstances, understand why a National GT category wouldn't want the best available drivers to participate. I would have thought the state series would be the ones to ban pros'... but quite the opposite.

    Beats me.

Ted surprised a few with a new PB time by over 1.5 sec in qual....

    http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?11/06/2006.PHIL.Q7

and the lap was completed in neutral across the line with a gear shift glitch, which cost 3 tenths.

He didn't put a wheel off all weekend, but failed to match his qualifying speed in the races.... much to his own frustration.

The standing start problem of the F1 shift also caused much extra frustration too.... Taking most of the short races to recover start position amongst traffic.

Hollywood actor Eric Bana was racing his Porsche 911 Turbo there too, but missed a shift and blew the engine.

my mate juniper not doing too bad first time out in the big stuff . he wanted me to come along in my rented cup car but time wasn't my friend . i've beaten him so far this year at every meet but by the smallest of margins. of course he has last years winning murphy/coulthard cup car ( runs motec to get all the data needed to go faster )and he always runs tip top tyres where as i get the left over tyres from sherrin racing , ( no motec as well) etc etc . that's my excuse and i'm sticking to it ;)

Yeah, I saw that... I put it down to a timing error... is it a legit' time? Pretty damn good if so!

GT series currently allows cup cars to run lower ride height and choice of springs/shox I believe, and better silencers and free tyre compound choice, but in reality most run cup spec.

Anything sub 12 is fast though.
