    Hi Ferrari-chatters,

Some minutes ago, I joined this forum as a new member. As a first contribution, I'd like to forward you this link to 80+ pics I took in Maranello in September 2004:

    http://community.webshots.com/user/larst430

The F430 had just been introduced, but there were many of these being test driven already. I posted some pics of all the different colours I spotted.
Also, there were two prototypes: A new Maserati and the 575 M Maranello replacement. And of course there were some Challenge Stradales, 360 Spiders and 575 Ms driving around as well (and even two Lamborghinis).

I hope all of you Ferrari-friends in the world will enjoy having a look at the pics!

    Ciao,
    Lars Theunissen

Not this one... it's likely that it is a test mule for the Maranello replacement. Just take a look at the wheel base and overall lenght...

    Love the pictures!

Thanks for posting those early pictures. The more I see the F430 early development cars the more I realize the front bumper doesn't fit the car. It's as if they took it out of another car and retrofit it to F430, shame...

Thanks for the great shots. How long did you have to stand in front of the gate to get all those shots?

BTW, I am disappointed that Ferrari chooses to deliver cars in an uncovered truck especially if it is going to France.:(

Thanks for all the "welcomes"! On your questions:

I was in Maranello for two full days and spent most of that time in front of the factory gates, since that's where most of the action is. The black "612" with the different wheels is indeed a prototype for the Maranello replacement.
Below every pic I added a description, often also pointing out interesting details

    Oh, forgot one reply:

During the two days of spotting, just a single open truck with new Ferraris was seen. All the other trucks were completely closed and not recognisable as carrying a bunch of Ferraris inside. I think that probably the importer of each country will be "responsible" for what kind of truck they use, not Ferrari itself (why should they care?).

If you are an active spotter and spend most of the time in front of the factory side entrance (where I took most pics), my guess is that you can see about 40-50 Ferraris on the road per day. Don't forget to check around the Ferrari shops, Ristorante Cavallino and the Galleria Ferrari, as there are often parked tourist Ferraris there. Good luck!

    Hi Bernd,

Great shots! Seems like I missed a nice event back in 2001!
