365 Boxer from Parts Manual: No Manufacturer Description

Build Sheets generally do not exist for these cars.

maybe the switch from Fiamm to MM was at the introduction of the 365gtc4?
what date was the c4 introduced and what daytona sn will correlate with the c4 intro?

Thanks for confirming this along with general lack of them for mid-to-late production Daytonas. :(

OTOH, it makes detailed pre-restoration (photo)documentation and forensic studies during the work even more vital on those rare examples that have not yet been subjected to multitudes of halfhearted efforts over the years and especially if preservation of accuracy/authenticity is the intended goal.

tar top with the “lead caps” exposed on the top was still being used in 1971 on daytonas.
since we are discussing batteries, what is the consensus for the wing nuts the hold down the battery? i believe its “mickey mouse” style for 275’s and modern style for daytonas.

So I actually found something that might be useful...

Pic is from mid 1972, but car is a plexi, so it is not impossible that the battery might have been changed.

Still, it is a dead ringer for the image from the Owners Manual...

Are you thinking of the Bosch “Classic” batteries, or is there some other source?

Either way, do you know of some source in the USA?

Those batteries are basically just a "topper" on a modern battery; cool looking, but not really what I think of as a "reproduction."

The sort of battery that I muse about is shown here:
    https://www.bosch-classic.com/en/products/product-overview/batteries/

These batteries are structurally similar to the original ones, though as I hinted, I've never come across a source in the USA (but I admit that I have not tried very hard).

Care to post a picture or screenshot ?
Maybe I’m a luddite, too old-fashioned or grumpy, but I almost unilaterally refuse to enter websites in which operators require me to make myself a target for their marketing efforts before allowing casual (& perhaps only onetime) viewing.

Looks like the terminals are backwards for Daytona, i.e. 24 or 27 vs. 24F or 27F (latter being correct for Daytona).
I wonder if these are available “dry”, which would make them easier to ship long distance ?

They supposedly make a lot of different variations, that is just their "stock photo" example.

If one were willing to risk clicking on the link, one would find that they do indeed ship dry, and you have to add the acid once the battery has been delivered... :)

Thanks. Good to know and maybe worthy of visiting the link. ;)
With dry shipping option, I could potentially have one or more shipped from Europe through some of my other suppliers.

    Yes, a Daytona.

But I'm in no rush regarding changing my battery; there are a lot more urgent things that need addressing on the car... :)

When the time comes, I probably will try and source one of those Bosch batteries from Europe.
