No, there is not. However, I have taken a blood oath previously here on F-chat to start one. It's not going to be fancy like Kerry's 330 register, but it will be better than nothing.

    PM me w/ a s/n and I'll see what I have . . .

thanks, Joe - but could you PM me your actual name so I don't have 12939 on file as "Owner - Bazooka Joe"?

you own the 545th Queen originally consigned to the official Canadian importer "Woolley"

Thanks so much Bryan. Mine is 13347, year 1970. Marrone w/ black interior. Forty Seven was originally bought in Rome and driven there for 6 years. He was then bought from the original owner's estate and moved to his new home in Modena for the next 9 years. 47 was then purchased by Texan Michael Liberman in 1985 who shipped it to Dallas. Car was purchased from Lieberman by Francis Nathan, also Dallas, in 1998. I bought the car from Mr. Nathan in February '04. (I had sold my 308 GT4 two years prior and always wanted a 330 or 365). The car has been strong as an ox. I put him on the track at the FCA meet at Laguna and had a blast. I even had a racing seat and a safety harness installed. I also drove the hell out of him from LA to Monterey - and back. And, obviously, I refuse to refer to him as a Queen. (...not that there's anything wrong with that...)

Speaking of 365 2+2's, does anyone have any idea where #11877 is? Engine #245, Navy Blue over Black. According to Raab's S/N book, it was delivered to Motor Roma in Italy. A few years ago, it was here in Vancouver and made the rounds at the local collector car auctions, failing to sell, as it needed some TLC (but overall, it was a great driver). Last time I saw it was in 1998...

Pen; are the headlight covers original and are they glass? I just wondered, mine had plastic covers when I bought it but I removed them after getting stopped twice by CHP. They don't like headlight covers. Nice color.

I'll jump in on part of your question to Pen - I don't believe the headlight covers on the 365GT2+2 were ever glass - always plexi. Since Pen's car was originally for the Italian market, I'd say there is a decent chance his headlight covers are original. From the sampling I've seen for the covers, it appears that they were most popular in the UK and Italian markets. Drew, Raab has your car as the 66th Queen built for the US market so I'm 99% sure your covers would not have been original - they would not have been allowed starting in 1968 under US regs.

It sounds like CHP needs to get a hobby - do you all have antique or vintage tags out there? In Virginia. although there are certain limitations on vehicle use, an "antique vehicle" tag gets you out of almost all scrutiny, including state safety and emissions inspections. It wouldn't be a stretch for you to argue that the covers were original equipment for 365GT2+2s - CHP won't take that argument? A 1941 Cadillac doesn't have emergency flashers - does CHP pull them over?

Drew, at 18 years I think you get the award for longest 365GT2+2 ownership here .. .

Thank you. I actually tried to sell it a couple of years ago but it was just starting to smoke. Now with the new engine I figure she's mine for a few more years. I probably could get vintage registration, I've never looked into it. After I took the headlight covers off I decided I liked it better that way anyway, but if I had Pen's car that had them originally it would be a different story.
The other item CHP likes to write up is no front plate. I've gotten hit for that twice also, but I still don't have one on.

I'm noticing a variation on the placement of the side view mirrors. Mine is about mid point of the wind wing but it doesn't adjust well for my seating position. Anyone have measurements on the stock location of the side view mirror?

Did the cars have side-view mirrors in all markets, or was that a US only thing?

I drove a Euro-spec 69 Daytona, and was surprised that it didn't have a side-view mirror. Then, I did a bit of research and found out that it was correct for a Euro.

I need to do more research (i.e., ask Dick Merritt), but I believe that side mirrors, headlight covers (for non-US cars) and radios were installed by the dealers.
I have seen 3 kinds of side mirrors on Queens; the bullet type as on Bill's red car above, the round flat-back, and the rectangular flat-back. I have seen them on one side, two sides and none at all. I have seen mounting so far back that you have to turn your head left to check it, and so far forward that a buddy would have to adjust it for you. I (11199) happen to have the bullet type pretty much mounted where Bill's is.

This is the long way of saying I don't think there was any strict standard for type or location of side mirror. The factory must have mounted some of them for the cars that were sold directly to clients . . .

I've attached the only jpeg I have here at work that shows my single side mirror (plus me, my wife and my dad at Reading 2001). Note that my wheels are incorrect for my early 1968 car. I have the 10-hole alloys original to the car, but they are currently beat to hell.
