Enjoy. Photos by thecarreaper.
It's actually a 400, not a 365 GT4 2+2, the 365's had three rear lights on each side - or has this been modified ? Nice pictures though.
No, its a 365 (18759). Keith Bluemel bugged Ferrari SpA for me, but they don't have paperwork on it one way or another. The earliest photo I have of it was circa 1984, and it had the same configuration then. John Apen inspected it when I bought it in 1997 and he said it looked original. Letters to Pininfarina have gone unanswered. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to go through the classiche program, but as its not a show car and we're only doing a mechanical restoration at this point, why bother? I've been told that the lights are the same as an Opel's.
I don't understand why these cars are getting a bum rap over on the ugly Ferrari thread. I think this is a lovely, elegant and understated car. But what do I know, I like 330GT Series 1s. Excellent photos, too.
Thanks Eric, nice example! Yep I'd love one and would probably sit with the bonnet open admiring that beautiful engine for many hours ... then I'd fire her up to hear the other half of the art Pete's impressed
Sweet, WOuld look beautiful next to my TR in the same color combo. Dont know why its getting a bum rap either. Timeless 4 seater. Enjoy !!
Martin: I suggest that you buy some good basic Ferrari books. The questions you keep asking are very simple. Please use this as a resouce: http://www.qv500.com/indexferrari.htm The car that I own is a 365 GT4 2+2, made in November 1975. Here is a basic guide to them: http://www.qv500.com/ferrari365&400p1.htm That model was the first in the series that contained the following: 400 GT/Automatic 400i 412 Quick details on this series of cars is here: http://www.qv500.com/ferrari365&400mr.htm Please pick up a copy of Keith Bluemel's "Ferrari, The Road Cars" when you get a chance. It should be a good reference book for you. Erik
