I think it's just a poor English auto translation and the "his" is actually referring to the 1972 car starting its racing career in 1973, and not to Jacques Swaters.

What's so special about that ?
I usually drive all Daytonas harder than that on every road test and always assumed every owner does too.

 

That's the difference between the owners of their multi million pound car respecting it and a mechanic thrashing and abusing a car that's been entrusted to him to look after it.

This car used to come into Maranello concesionaires in the late 1970,s for various bits of work, owned by sir hugh edgley

 

I remember following that car on the way to Moroso as it was driven by one of the Cottingham brothers. I enjoyed every stop and red lights as he would give it the beans.

How would you know if the car is not acting well at redline, by hoping?
Do you assume racecars, are 'mollycoddled' on the track?

Besides. you make it sound that it is a Jiffy Lube, et al, mechanic, driving your priceless VW / Prius?
They, DO NOT rev up. Just like my grandmother...

And, even those have a redline, and at times if there is a miss, don't you think the tech / mech, will rev it
to make certain you can rev your 87 Hp to redline? Jeez...so much bellyaching...

That definitely was a Dyno run, the motor is fully broken in now.
