I'm getting ready to check the sync of the carbs on a C4. I have my Carbtune gauges, but I need the fittings for the manifolds. I pulled one of the plugs expecting it to be a pipe plug, but they look like a 6mm bolt with copper washer. Does anyone know where to find the adaptor fittings to be able to hook up the gauges, or is this something that has to be made at this point?

Any help would be appreciated, Scott.

I don't know ifanyone offers them anymore but they are very easy to make.

Get some partially threaded 6mm bolts about 25mm or so long, cut the heads off and rifle drill them.

I put a nut on them to lock them in place and stop any air leakage around the threads.

I'm not familiar with the C4, but Brian's advice made me think... If they're 6x1mm thread, you could use a throttle cable adjuster from a racing go-kart. They're rifle drilled already for the throttle cable to go through. It would cost a few bucks more, but save you some time.

They have approx. 20mm of thread and are 6x1mm.

Scroll about halfway down the page. "Metric Throttle Cable Adjuster" for $2.65/ea.

A trip to Ace Hardware and a little drilling and you're good to go.

I've been using metric brake bleeder screws for years....

Thanks for all the great suggestions for these fittings. I can't believe I didn't think of the bleeder screw idea. I have some 6mm bleeders at work that should fit the bill perfectly. Just a brain fart on my part. If these don't work out, I'll try the other methods.

    Thanks again, Scott.

Glad to be of help... :D and you can even leave them in, with a suitable rubber cap.
