Shoot for Cavallino and show it....if too soon, Amelia. Get it out on the "circuit" to show how nice it truly is. Can you use others to source rubber goods? Try GTO Engineering ? Jack
Always forget about those guys at GTO.. Thanks Big Jack... I would like to take the car around when its finished to a show or 2.. It would be fun to see the finished work and if it stands up to everyone else..
Well I am 58 and already married but would consider converting to a multiple wife religion to get a V12 !
Engine was started and ran for an hour with no issues.. They are going to run it again today to check everything once more.. Probably next week the engine is going in.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had a C4 for three years. On idle the chain that drives the cams is so loose that it slaps the valve cover. I thought of replacing the chain tensioners but was told it is just part of the design, that once you are under way it stops doing it and if you spend hundreds replacing the tensioners, all you buy is a few minutes without the slap. That was all decades ago, maybe someone has solved that problem by now. Another thing I had the single distributor model. I always suspected it wasn't running on all twelve cylinders but just before I sold it I took the distributor cap off and saw some of the metal things (sorry I am not a mechanic and don't know what these parts are named) had melted so that showed me for years it hadn't run on all twelve. I guess my mechanic didn't want to admit he couldn't find that part.
I am off to Maine in mine to join other Ferrari folks for the weekend. This is a picture of what my C/4 looks like with bumpers painted body color. Enjoy your car and take it from one who uses his a lot - drive it frequently and take long trip. The C/4 will return the love by being relatively maintenance headache free. Nonsense. A properly adjusted cam chain with correctly installed tensioners & guides doesn't rattle. Not at idle, cold, hot, or at speed.
Yes, I will for sure drive this all the time. Sounds like a lot of fun. Driving the country roads should be a great time.. My Mother used to live in Maine up by Bangor. What a cold place that is in the winter.. Never saw a Ferrari in Maine..
Still working on the engine and interior. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mike, I'm a little late to this party but let me get this straight. You sold your beautiful 365 2+2 or was it a 330 2+2? And then started the process all over again with the C4? That's fantastic!
Hey George, I sold my Red Queen to buy a even nicer Black Queen..Sounds bit strange to say it that way... But I have had this craving for a C/4 for many years, and just as they started to jump up in cost last year I was able to get a nice condition driver to restore.. Its almost done, but I have no idea when its going to be done, but it sounds nice to say.. Its out on the East Coast..
Who is doing the work? Now that my 308 is done I'm starting to look for a new project, so when I saw this thread it really made me laugh!
