Hey all, Looking for this part. Could not find a part number either. Its a plastic part that goes in the shifter to keep if from spinning around when shifting.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This looks like a Fiat Standard part: https://www.alfa-fiat-spidersport.at/en/product/mounting-kit-for-gearshift/ Cost: 6,45 EUR
Fingers crossed. Its still at the shop and they are about to put the trans back in. A little delay for another part. Anyway now.. Its looks just about perfect though so I'm sure its going to work.
May be. I didnt think anything of it either until these posts. it doesnt seem right that it should though and functionality doesnt seem impaired.
First, if I may, you guys should be more specific which part of the “shifter” you’re referring to. Shifter arm/rod (#20) ? Shift(er) knob (#21) ? Shifter arm/rod “sleeve” (#22) ? Or … ? And for what it’s worth, in the car I’m currently working on the shifter knob & “sleeve” both rotate in unison, not loosely, but they do rotate when turning/twisting into either direction by hand and seems normal to to me.
Edit: I've never had one apart (yet), but looking at the design in pictures, including the parts diagram, I think the knob-sleeve combo is supposed to have ability to rotate/spin slightly during shifting, although not loosely.
