Steve Alderman's car. He's on here once in a while.
    He buys and sells 365/400's.
I've talked to him, nice guy. Drop him a note, he'll tell you straight.

I'm really surprised as to how much more this car is going for over the typical 400.

    Is it really worth double?

I don't feel it is worth any more than $40k - it doesn't seem very original: the red cam covers, the 400 chin spoiler, and the seats look like they might be from a 400 (the gold 365 that was for sale recently in CT had different seats).

Which car was the "top 5% of 400s" that he just sold that the 365 is nicer than?

The entire interior including the dash and the doorskins is from a late 400. Steering wheel, the carpet in the trunk and, as you mentioned, the red cam covers are not original either. It might be a car in very good condition but it sure is far from original. The price is pure fantasy...

    #49041 a Blue/blue 5-speed. It was a pretty nice car. I almost bought it.
The one I bought is just a bit nicer.

<EDIT> If I remember correctly he sold it for $33k.

The interior is from an early (Series 1) not a late one.

You are absolutely right - I actually meant to say that as well. Maybe I should get myself checked...
