I have had a few friends of mine doing some homework on Koenigsegg USA and found that if this guy is the spokesman for Koenigsegg we will never have a strong support system for the Koenigsegg.......I guess what I am saying, would you give a guy in a shop like this 500,000.00 for a car and trust him to hold on to it for over a year until your car arrives.....my guess is that he would be on his way to Cuba.

For a $500k car, you could always fly to Sweden and fork over some cash directly to the head honcho.

And why not? You gotta start someplace. Would you rather they build a fancy dealership and charge 20k over list to pay for thet dealership? Could it be that that is an tempoary place to work out of until they sell enough cars to justify a dealership? So what if the place looks like that. Maybe they have a factory trained tech there to work on the car. Maybe this is a market test to see if there is a market for the car in the US before the invest big money into dealerships and support for the car. If they only sell one or 2 cars a year..a big dealership would be a waste for money and a drain on the factory. There are many reasons why they would do somthing like this. Don't judge a book by its cover..

They only plan to make 10 to 20 cars a year. Even if 5 come to the US, it would increase the price by $400k per car to have just $2 million for a dealership.

Are you sure that all the money needs to be paid up front? Perhaps a 5% downpayment is all that's required. That would be $25k...not too bad, right?

Don't judge a book by its cover and don't judge a mechanic by his shed.

Koenigsegg had a car at a Florida Auto show I believe. Maybe this guy just helped out with that. Just a guess though. Also I bet the car will be sold through a few large exotic car dealerships. With maybe 5 of these cars coming to the U.S. a year in the future that means that a strong support system is most likely going to be impossible. Very cool car though.

I would like this thread to be locked. Michael the spokesperson for Koenigsegg is a great guy and is HIGHLY respected in the car world. My father has actually become the Koenigsegg Palm Beach Dealer. He has known michael for about 20 years. For you to judge a person that way and make remarks about someone running off to Cuba without knowing who they are is wrong. Your mother should have taught you to not judge a book by its cover.

very cool car... if they could mass produce it and lower the cost to say..... 90k, then i could afford one, hell, i would even try to get a dealership going....until then i can only dream..btw,,,, i have been to plenty of fancy exotic and high end car dealerships that gave shoddy service and ripped off customers....this guy could be doing a great job, and apparently he is

Whats the point of mass production?......

It makes no sense to buy a $500k supercar and knowing that there are others who can afford it.

the main reason why people get supercars is because of "exclusitivity".

production of 5-10 in a year is an ideal # imo

i dont think there is danger of mass produced 500k cars...unless the economy became very good!!!!!i the point of mass production of a cr like the k car is that it might become more affordable to a shmoo like me...the main reason i would want a sports car is because it is fun to drive, fast and great looking..if other people have it also, so be it...

I must stand with JT. I too know Michael very well and he is an honest and forthright individual. I actually live about 1.5 mi's from his shop and I have ridden in the CC8S in the photos. A very awesome car with alot of potential. The CCR should be even more incredible.
