    I decided I might get more contributions (not to mention better organization) from moving this post to the model-specific forums...

    Thought I'd start a little collection of sound bites of our favorite cars. Please add a post for each car... with a sound bite or two to let us hear the exhaust.

    Note that the MP4's are MPEG-4 files... essentially an MP3 with a bit of video to let you see what's happening... but very low-quality video because the purpose is to maximize the audio. The latest versions of QuickTime and Windows Media Player can both handle MPEG-4. You can get the lastest version of QuickTime from:

    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

    Stick the the left column... avoid the middle column.
    Select your OS, uncheck the buttons for receiving Apple solicitations (unless you want them), fill in the info, and hit "Download".

    To start, here's the sound of the Yellow Enzo at FFQC 2004. It has stock exhaust, but an adjustment has been made by the dealer to keep it in "loud mode" so to speak. It sounded great.

    In the second clip, you'll also hear a 360C, an Elise, and another Enzo go by in this as well (for comparison).

    Here's what an F1 sounds like doing the same that Enzo was... I think the Enzo sound is actually prettier... but what a wail you get from an F1!!

    Well, not a Ferrari... but it is a supercar. And its the most F1-like production car I've ever heard. Great sound... but too little of it. I took several shots of it, trying to capture that sound... but every time but this once, it was completely drowned out by the nearby Ferrari!

    Crank it up (otherwise you might miss it)... ;)

    Why does the Carrara GT sound so ... quiet?

    That F1 car sounded so awesome while shifting! AWEsOME!

    I don't get it... they manage to generate an amazing F1-like sound... but its sooo quiet. If I owned one, it would have a new exhaust the next day... gotta let that baby sing!


    That's a matter of opinion. I prefer more of a growl ... a sound with more "character" ... and thus the Enzo and Stradale both sound better to me than the Carrera GT. Others prefer more of a wail... more of an F1 sound... those tend to prefer the 355 over the 360... and will consider the Carrera GT to be one of the finest sounds ever. Its really an amazing sound... especially when giving it quick revs... it revs up really fast. But for me, the Enzo, the Stradale, the 246 Dino, the older 60's Ferraris, etc., all do much more for me than the Carrera GT.

    In some videos the Carrara GT sounds so LOUD and it sounds like it's barking at someone. In others, like this one, it sounds so timid and quiet. Where's Alex Papas?

    The Enzo even sounds good just moving around in the garage area... these are excerpts from a video posted on Fchat long ago...

    If i would close my eyes and someone would ask me to guess whats making that noise i would never guess it was a car. I love this thread.

    Anybody know how to convert 8 bit wave into MP3 or MP4?
    Have a few good F-sounds but can't post here.

    Brian a few of the MP4s do not have sound - gonna fix them soon?

    If you're on a Mac, then just import it into iTunes... done.
    iTunes on the PeeCee might work the same.


    Ooops... which ones? All the ones in this thread have sound.

    click the F50 under video gallery, then under model ferrari supercars and there you have it. This particular GTO has the optional megaphone exhaust, the standard one may be quieter.

    They have video but no sound.

    I do not work on a "alien" computer!! :)

    Using Windows XP SP2 as a internet machine. I work with UNIX systems at work so it using the internet machine is quite frustrating as I am used to computers that WORK and don't need "updates" because of design flaws.
