3D paint color sculpture?

I think I remember once seeing a 3D paint sample in the form of an amorphous blob sculpture. (I think the idea is that it provides a better impression of the paint because of its curvature and depth.) Do these ever come up for sale, for example, after they've been obsoleted by new color options?

It would be nice if I could fine one to match my father's car, since it's in a fairly rare color (Rosso Monza, 1997).
