Since I now have CarPlay in the 575, I thought it was time to finally make a phone holder.

3D printing is a hobby of mine so I made the removable holder out of ABS. I could have gone fancier, with insets but this works.

Basically, it’s just an ABS piece with a manget mount attached and my 3rd party TPMS button.

Took about 9 hours to print (30% solid). Materials were maybe $1.

If anyone is interested, let me know and I can get you the files or do a print run.

Read a ton of your posts in the past
I know you owned a 575 but never knew it was gated. Very nice!

I'd love to have the .STL file of that if you care to send it my way. Getting mighty tired of chasing my phone around in the car! (Or I suppose I could stop being lazy and just go and measure things myself.)

I’ll send you the files tomorrow night when I get back in town. I have a few variations so I’ll DM you.

Came out great but the magnet that came with the case I bought for my 14 Pro is a bit big by like 1/16 inch. You have a source for magnet or what do you recommend?

I have added the CAD STEP file so you can edit as desired.

This should fit an Apple MagSafe charger. The cutout should be 56.4mm diameter and the MagSafe is 56mm, so depending on your printers calibration it may be tight or loose.

Can you share a pic of what does not work?

So as usual I failed to read all the instructions. It was already printing in PLA when I read the part about not using PLA. That and lack of calibration made the cutout less than the 56mm needed. A bit of dremel tool work and its together and working but I'll print another out of the correct material so I can put a charger in it or at least get a better looking magnet.

You can also print it top side down with some supports. The supported area may look bad but wont be seen as it will be covered by the magnet, but the top will probably look better from printing on the smooth or textured plate.

If that Magnet works with the case you like, no need to move to the MagSafe.

    Thank you!

I actually started working on one myself. My 7th test print is going on right now after a few more tweaks. I decided to use the little change bin to hold my version. I print it upside down so there's a flat mounting surface for a mount. I'm also waiting on a new smooth plate bed for my new X1C to come in so the mounting surface will be much smoother. The textured surface doesn't look terrible, but I'm worried about adhesion. I'll put my design up on maker world when it's done. In the mean time here is a picture of revision 4 (white) and 5 (red).

These are printed in PETG for added heat resistance.

Great job! That’s what I love about 3D printing, so easy to make custom functional prints!
