CHICAGO’S LARGEST OUTDOOR CAR SHOW & CRUISE SET FOR JUNE 2, 2007

Third Annual Chi-Town Kruze To Raise Funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana

The Chi-Town STA-BIL Kruze is Chicago’s largest outdoor classic car cruise and exhibition. First, the cruise portion is a rare opportunity for cars of all makes, models and vintage to tour around picturesque Grant and Millennium Parks. NEW ROUTE THIS YEAR! Cars will follow Columbus Drive south to Roosevelt Road, over to Michigan Avenue to Randolph Street, and then back to Columbus Drive. The cruise route starts on Columbus near Buckingham Fountain. Cars are encouraged to make multiple loops before heading to the Soldier Field South Lot for the NAPA Car Show later in the morning. Thousands of spectators are expected to line the cruise route that includes many of Chicago’s most cherished attractions including the Art Institute, Millennium Park and beautiful Grant Park.

Immediately following the cruise, pre-1987 registered cars will drive to Soldier Field along Chicago’s beautiful lakefront to display their vehicles, socialize with friends and enjoy a variety of activities including family entertainment, sponsor exhibits, fabulous food and collectable merchandise.

New Addition! Calling all Corvettes! The 2007 Chi-Town STA-BIL Kruze will feature the Corvette at this year’s car show. All Corvettes are welcome (including newer models) and will be displayed in a special section of the NAPA Car Show at Soldier Field. There will also be a designated section for Special Interest and Tuner cars.

The Chi-Town STA-BIL Kruze is again committed to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana as its charity sponsor. One half of car show registration fees and 100% of the $5 admission fee for spectators will be donated to the charity. Last year, $25,000 was raised and donated to the organization benefiting families of sick children.

Sounds like a good time! I wonder if they'd reserve a block for us if we got a couple cars out to attend?

Sure why not. I used to run in the custom class in the NCCC Concours. It's still titled and insured as one. But be ready to hear all the remarks. Just get used to it, having a half breed Bast___ child.

Disturbingly so far no Ferraris on Oakstreet event has been announced by the FCA. I'm still hoping that this region's flagship event will happen this year.

You are right!! That June 11th date was for 2006. I was close, only a year off. It happens once in a while at my age.

    Where did you read that?

The website doesn't show it and AFAIRC the newsletter didn't mention it either.

Andreas - We met in Racine, WI in November for the Panamerica Tour gathering at Case IH; I have the red Dino. At that event, Mike Epifanio told me that the Oak Street event was scheduled for June 3 and to mark my calander. Is the event still on? Regards, Bob.

Well, I'm the wrong one to answer that question. Somebody from FCA would have to do that.

All I can say is that I don't see it listed on their website or their newsbulletin.

I'd say June 3 would be the date if it happens. And I sure hope it will happen.

I did it a couple of years ago and thought it was soso. The Soldier Field parking lot just doesn't do it for me.

What was cool though were some of the add-ons they had: Some real race cars on display including a "NASCAR" from the good ol' days when the "Daytona 500" was raced on the beaches of Daytona. Had the honor to talk to one of the drivers from back then, awesome stories.

I just received my particapant packet today. It looks like it's a first in basis and not organized by manufacture or class with the exception of vettes. Is anyone planning on going? If so, it'd be cool to arrange a place to meet so that we can all go in together.

I emailed Mike Epifania and Ferraris On Oak Street is definitely not happening this year. What a shame since I just got my Mondial T in November and was really looking forward to that event.
