My browsing of social media led me to a photo of an f50gt at Monticello. I know it's not the one from the west coast nor the Japan one. Anyone knows who is the lucky owner?
Guessing that this photo from Instagram was the one you were referring to Andrew? From the comments there, the owner's collection also includes a 250 GTO, so if true that would certainly narrow down the number of possible candidates. Certainly exciting to see what is most likely F50 GT #03 resurface, especially with it being back here in the USA. >8^) ER Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, that is the picture i saw . If the owner is who i think he is, he is on fchat (or was..). In any case, congratulations! You bought the most beautiful sound on earth!
Not this time apparently, though he'd surely be a likely candidate for a car like this. The owner's name is supposed to be Joe according to comments found with the photo. There's only one match to that on the 250 GTO owner's list and it looks like he might be conveniently located within an hour's drive of MMC. Yes, because I had to scroll back through all of his Monterey shots when I needed to find it again. >8^) ER
Several online sources suggest that would be accurate on the GTO. Those driving lamps might be period correct, but I'd probably leave them on a very high shelf in the garage if that one were mine. >8^) ER
Oh yeah... I think they are, ummm... wonderful too. I just would want to keep them safe and free of any rock chips on that high shelf in the garage for the next owner to enjoy. >8^) ER
Hopefully this isn't anyone's on here as it screams 'scam' 1995 Ferrari F50 - FIXER UPPER - MAKE OFFER
#001 is the one and only F50 GT1 factory built in full GT1 spec. The other two are outsourced by F and not same spec as Art S told me in 2004. #001 was built by Scuderia Ferrari in Maranello.
You could give me one built from one of those three extra tubs that were supposedly disposed of and I wouldn't complain. >8^) ER
The story is somewhat true. A f50 was stolen from a dealer not a private residence. The car was somehow registered in another state and sold. To a fchatter actually. The car was found out it be stolen and was seized by the Fbi. The car was crashed while in the fbi's custody. And it was eventually sold. Not sure if this ad is legit or not but the story they are telling is a wee bit off. Never the less there is a f50 with damage that was for sale recently and may still be for sale.
the corresponding website is sketchy though, I mean looking through some of the "salvage" prices, hell ya I'd pay $20,000 for a nose damaged Aventador! It would be cool to really track down the F50 and see what the bidding process is.
Of all the modern race Ferraris based off a road car, I'd have to agree and say this is probably the best of them all. 700-800 hp, ~2000 pounds, and a sequential manual transmission??? How do you compete with that? F40 LM, FXX, FXX-K are all wonderful but don't think they have the same sort of driver feedback.
Have it on fairly good authority that the car spotted at MMC which was the subject of this thread will actually be F50 GT #002, formerly part of the Okamoto collection in Japan from new, and that F50 GT #003 is somewhere in the UK for now. Also learned that like #001, chassis #002 has also had an accident in its past though not nearly as severe as chassis #001's first incident. >8^) ER
Amazing cars, the GTO #3223GT is in the exact same spec as it raced Daytona and Sebring in early '64....... Incl. the lights.
Thanks for that update. Do you know how long 003 has been here it maybe inspired by the fx55...........
